Volkswagen to add ChatGPT to cars



At a CES 2024 event, Volkswagen unveiled new vehicles with ChatGPT integrated into the in-car voice assistant.

According to a LinkedIn post by Volkswagen Brand CEO Thomas Schäfer, the AI-based chatbot will be offered as a feature from Q2 of 2024 in their production vehicles such as Golf, Passat, Tiguan, and others.

"In the future, our customers will have seamless access to the constantly growing artificial intelligence database in all Volkswagen models equipped with the IDA voice assistant and have researched content read out to them while driving, " says Schäfer.
